• 8 each: 10-7/8-inch dinner plate; 8-inch salad plate; 8-1/2-inch rimmed soup bowl; 8-ounce teacup; 6-inch saucer

French Countryside from Mikasa graces any table with casual simplicity and a touch of class. Solidly glazed, the durable stoneware is a warm, creamy shade of white, suitable for year-round dining with linens in any color. A pattern of three raised ridges and scalloped rims graces each piece with subtle texture, except for the teacup rim, which is smooth. The plates show a substantially raised border, making them deeper than many plates. The rimmed bowl generously holds cereal, soup, or salad, while the teacup is perfect for morning coffee, with or without the matching saucer. Made of durable, chip-resistant stoneware, French Countryside dinnerware is safe for use in the microwave and dishwasher, may be loaded up with leftovers and placed in the freezer, and if desired may be placed in a cool oven and warmed up slowly.

A comprehensive 45-piece set for eight diners that includes a five-piece serving set, this set includes eight of each of the following: 10-7/8-inch dinner plate, 8-inch salad plate, 8-1/2-inch rimmed soup bowl, 8-ounce teacup, and 6-inch saucer. Rounding out the place settings are a 12-inch round buffet platter, generous serving bowl, and a creamer and lidded sugar bowl, both gracefully footed. Additional French Countryside accent pieces and accessories are available separately to set a fully coordinated table. --Ann Bieri
